I am a board certified OBGYN and a fellowship-trained minimally invasive surgeon. This means after medical school, I did a 4-year residency training in OBGYN followed by another 2 year fellowship in minimally invasive surgery. This type of surgery refers to treating heavy bleeding, fibroids with same-day procedures that involve a few small incisions or holes in the abdomen. This is in comparison to big cuts (like a c-section scar) that requires staying in the hospital for a few days. It takes additional expertise to be able to perform these surgeries.

I trained in Brooklyn, New York where I saw a very diverse patient population. I treated many women with fibroids, and I started to develop a niche in that area. After my training, I moved to the bay area in California and started practicing in Oakland. The patient population was very similar to Brooklyn and I had many patients with heavy bleeding, pain, and infertility due to fibroids. Taking care of women with fibroids really became a passion of mine, and “The Fibroid Doc” was born.

I specialize in robotic surgery and pride myself in offering the latest advances in technology to my patients.

Apart from my technical expertise, I am a caring and compassionate doctor who strives to help my patients achieve their health goals. By treating their fibroids, I enable them to get their life back: a new found freedom where they can enjoy their lives to the fullest.
